All Councillors are given funds to:
- Support local projects, such as, community activities, minor building works
- Help build stronger communities in Brisbane, such as, improving park facilities and community facilities
Applicants must be either a not-for-profit organisation or sponsored by a not-for-profit organisation. Projects should fit into the following themes:
- Inclusive city
- Active and Healthy City
- Clean and Green City
- Creative City
Central Ward has more than 40 sporting groups, over 50 charitable, not-for-profit community groups, 13 schools, 2 university campuses, 3 Neighbourhood Watches, 3 history groups and 2 business associations all of whom are eligible to apply. Priority is given to those events or projects which provide real value to local residents.
