New requirements for cat and dog owners


From 1 July 2009, Queensland Government has passed new requirements
for cat and dog owners.


Brisbane City Council is responsible for administering the new requirements, including mandatory:

*Registration of cats
*Microchipping of cats and dogs when sold (seller responsibility)
*Microchipping of cats and dogs when given away
(responsibility on the person giving away the animal)
*Microchipping of cats and dogs before reaching the age of 12 weeks
* Tattooing of cats and dogs at the time of desexing
